Brenda Iijima
One Poem

………Sacred commodity + birthright
………baby grooming fine
………baby reflection pond, baby pouting instagrammed on golden ceiling
………deliver the fetus to ………Chronos—he's the personification of time
………fighting repetition as the nuclear reactor core destabilizes
………distractions are endless and my ass aches
………hemorrhaging conceptually around the tautological center
………all uterus' shed a tear some mucus
………glistening cum sideling along
………once in a while the tiny echoes march off to the bus stop to be implored
………eye their parent's guns and trophies, bottles and posters
………in an infantile state yawn at the horizon
………dance thematic in a slow-moving pace
moving space so bodily is her baby's name Blue

………baby, raw, once babies display, baby raw
………what happened to baby
………raw baby remediation lesser on babies, lower threshold, babies
………the infants are gone, reservoir
………infants can't be born/hormonal ceiling
………Holocene finally the humans are sterile and the other animals breed
………a fantasy in the form of uterine mutation
………Anthropogenic, lithosphere, baby
………nomenclature for baby, baby husbandry, baby you grow just fine, corn potato
………bearing witness to the close encounter, foist baby profane data + veins
………come out, play
………baby-gateway
………ensconced, the known world
………reflexively

Brenda Iijima's involvements occur at the often unnamable conjunctions and mutations of poetry, choreography, research movement, animal studies, speculative non-fiction, care-giving and forlorn histories. Her forthcoming book, Untimely Death is Driven Beyond the Horizon will be published by 1913 Press in 2014. She is also the publisher of Portable Press @ Yo-Yo Labs and will publish the 50th book from the press this year.
